English Language Proficiency Standards for Adult Education
The English Language Proficiency (ELP) Standards for Adult Education are out!
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) highlights the importance of preparing all adults, including adult English language learners, for continued education and training beyond high school. This new report from OCTAE identifies English Language Proficiency (ELP) standards to help ensure that adult English language learners receive the focused and effective instruction they need to access the College & Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education (CCRS). Consider these ELP standards the “language lift” that non-native speakers of English need to reach the CCRS.
