The DL Supplemental Services online course, DL Basics: Introduction to Distance Learning, is ready to pilot! This series of six modules offers an introduction to distance learning basics for teachers, managers, and support staff. It provides an overview of essential information that will be helpful to programs implementing distance learning, as well as staff hired by programs already offering DL. Topics include introduction and overview of DL, policies and procedures, instructional topics (recruitment, orientation, teaching, and assessment), communication and data collection, and statewide resources.
We are looking for ABE professionals to pilot the training. Those interested can pilot any or all of the modules. A simple online Google form will need to be completed for each module piloted. The time commitment for completing all of the modules is not be more than two hours. If you are willing to help pilot this new statewide resource, please contact Tom Cytron-Hysom.
