Lindsey Cermak splits her time between the Minnesota Literacy Council, where she serves as GED Instructor & Coordinator at Open Door Learning Center – Northside, and ATLAS, where she serves as Numeracy Coordinator. An alumna of ATLAS’s 2013 MNI (Minnesota Numeracy Initiative) cohort, she has since provided leadership for ATLAS in various contexts, most recently as a part of our statewide implementation of the College & Career Readiness Standards (CCRS). She has led the Math side of the CCRS Implementation Cohort since August 2018.
Lindsey has an undergraduate degree in Humanities from the College of Saint Benedict & Saint John’s University. While in college, she worked with the Bonner Leader Program and the Service-Learning program, coordinating and facilitating relationships between faculty, students, and community partners. Outside of work, she is actively involved with her church and has a passion to see different parts of the world. She enjoys spending time with close family and friends, and cherishes the little things. Lindsey’s passion for literacy started during her AmeriCorps term. Her heart was drawn to the GED population as she worked with these amazing individuals. If given the proper tools and encouragement, they can change the course of their entire lives, as well as those of their families. She loves that she does not just teach, but continually learns from her students as well.
