She currently serves as the Director of the Southern Illinois Professional Development Center – part of the Illinois Community College Board Professional Development Network. \nSarah is a certified trainer of Universal Design for Learning through CAST\, a founding member of the CTAE UDL SIG\, and co-creator of Illinois’ Supporting Student Success Professional Pathway. Creating supportive environments that promote conversations and meet learners where they are\, helping them achieve their goals\, is what motivates Sarah. She has also coached 50+ programs creating Bridges and Integrated Education and Training (IET/ICAPS) programs and has spearheaded the creation of the statewide contextualized curricula. Starting as a Special Ed teacher and with 25 years in Adult Education\, she is proud to have had students from 3 to 83 years old and every age in between. \nTara Schwab is an Educational Training Specialist at the Southern Illinois Professional Development Center (SIPDC)\, part of the Illinois Community College Board Adult Education Professional Development Network\, and she also continues to teach classes in Adult Education. Tara has 24+ years of experience in education in the areas of instruction\, training\, curriculum development and implementation\, and mentoring. Tara’s adult education teaching and technical assistance experience includes IET (ICAPS – Illinois’ branding of IET)\, ESL\, ABE\, and ASE programs. Tara is a certified trainer of Universal Design for Learning\, a credential that was earned through the Center for Applied Special Technologies (CAST). She also co-created the Supporting Student Success Pathway which involves Universal Design for Learning (UDL) implementation in programs across the state and the Career\, Technical\, and Adult Education Universal Design for Learning Special Interest group through CAST which is a worldwide group of professionals dedicated to infusing UDL into their practices.

She has been active in adult education and adult numeracy for over 17 years and has been active in CCRS implementation work since 2016. In addition to presenting at the local\, state and national level for K-16 instructors around adult numeracy and soft skills topics\, Amber participates on the MN Numeracy Instruction Advisory Team and the Transitions Professional Development Advisory Team. \nGenna Hart\, MEd (she/her)\, has worked in ABE since 2022 as the lead teacher for Diploma Connect program at Project for Pride in Living in Minneapolis. Before starting her ABE journey\, Genna worked as a Special Education Teacher for 10 years with a focus on math and transition skills. In the Diploma Connect program\, Genna teaches numeracy skills and math to help adults earn their adult high school diploma. \n  \n\nCCRS Foundations – ELA\, presented by Erin Cary and Kristine Kelly\n\n \nErin Cary\, MA-ESL (she/her)\, has worked in MN ABE since 2009\, as a teacher\, administrator\, and in curriculum writing and professional development. Jennifer has taught literacy level adult English learners in a variety of settings including traditional classroom instruction as well as family literacy\, onsite workplace education\, 1-on-1 literacy tutoring\, and remote virtual teaching. She also has 11 years experience as a program coordinator for a medium sized adult English learner workplace partnership program in Salt Lake City\, Utah. Jennifer is a certified K-12 teacher\, and completed graduate level study in Adult Education and Curriculum Development through Westminster College in Salt Lake City\, UT. Jennifer was a runner-up for the 2016 COABE Teacher of the Year Award and was selected as the Utah Adult Education Association’s Outstanding Leader of the Year in 2020.
