Join us on Zoom to delve into Integrated Education and Training (IET).  Integrated Education and Training and (IET) is a service approach that provides adult education and literacy activities concurrently and contextually with workforce preparation activities and workforce training for a specific occupation or occupational cluster for the purpose of educational and career advancement.

1:30 -2:30 pm – CONCURRENT SESSION 1 (CHOOSE ONE):
(a) IET 101: Back to Basics! Why do it? – Presenters: Julie Dincau and Brad Hasskamp, MDE
If you’re new to IET, you may want to know the basics. Join us as we break down the basics of Integrated Education and Training (IET). The session will provide you with information on the key components of IET, the benefits of this from adult career pathways programming, and where to locate resources to begin your IET journey.

(b) My SSLO Story – Presenters: Patsy Egan and Kristine Kelly, ATLAS and panel
SSLOs – that pesky but oh-so-important Single Set of Learning Objectives – emerge in programs in their own way! Join us to hear about various programs’ SSLO journeys, and how they finally landed on SSLOs worthy of the great teaching and learning happening at their sites. Panelists include ABE colleagues from Moose Lake DOC, Sauk Rapids (Hillside Adult Education), and the International Institute. Facilitated by ATLAS staff members Patsy Egan and Kristine Kelly.

Unlocking the Integrated Education and Training (IET) Design Toolkit
Heard about IET but don’t know exactly where to start? Interested in offering IET and need some tools or resources to support you with this work? Come learn how to get started with designing an IET with tools and resources to make the process easier to navigate. Join us to learn more about utilizing the IET Design Toolkit to further your current IET or to begin an IET in your program.

(b) Don’t do it alone: SE Minnesota Regional Model for IETs – Presenters: Jill Rivard, Hiawatha Valley/Red Wing ABE and Penny Jahnke, SE ABE
How many of you have thought : “I can’t do IET because my program is too small, I don’t have the time, I can’t afford it, I don’t know where to start, I can’t do the SSLO’s.” We were there too. We decided we were stronger together. Please join us In this webinar we will discuss the history of regional IET, steps to create a regional model, challenges and successes, as well as how to share contact hours.

3:25-4:15 pm – SESSION 3: IETs by Region: Let’s Talk! – Presenter: Patsy Egan, ATLAS and Heather Turngren, Minneapolis ABE
As we close this first IET Institute for Minnesota Adult Education, we’ve set aside time for regions to come together. The work of IET doesn’t happen easily nor in isolation; it requires hearty collaboration. Most of this session will be in a breakout room discussion led by your Regional Transitions Coordinator. This is the perfect time to learn/share about regional plans, connect with others doing similar work in your geographic area, and identify next steps. As a full group, we’ll end with some key announcements and reflections from ATLAS and MDE.
