EBRI Study Circle – Virtual
March 19, 2021 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am CDT FreeThis series of six meetings, facilitated by Marn Frank, ATLAS, from early February through early May will introduce the foundations of and best practices for evidence-based reading instruction (or EBRI). The content will include: the four reading components and their interrelationships, diagnostic reading assessment purposes and processes, explicit instruction for word skills (alphabetics and vocabulary) and text skills (fluency and comprehension), and teacher-recommended print or online teaching resources. Along with full meeting attendance, participants will be expected to complete short pre- and post-meeting tasks. They will earn 12+ CEUs in the area of reading preparation and also have the option of earning one graduate-level credit from Hamline University. If you have not been invited to attend as part of a MN ABE program team, but are interested, please email Marn Frank at [email protected].
To be eligible for 1 Hamline University graduate credit, you must attend ALL 6 study circle meetings (February 5 and 26; March 19 and 26; April 23; May 7) and complete all assignments. Otherwise, attendance of all study circle meetings is encouraged, but not required.
If you require ASL Interpretation, please contact Gail Rutan at [email protected]
