Join a cohort of Minnesota adult educators participating in the new LINCS Course – Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): From Awareness to Action. This course leads participants to think through and evaluate DEI at the classroom and program level and culminates in an equity audit. 

After completing this 6-hour self-paced course, you’ll be able to:

• Understand and define what is meant by diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the adult education classroom and program.
• Identify steps you can take to advance your commitment to DEI progressively from both an individual and a programmatic perspective.
• Identify steps for conducting an equity audit in your classroom or program and work toward the sustainability of DEI efforts.

This cohort experience will include:

• Cohort Kickoff Webinar: May 4, 4:00-5:00 pm CDT
• Asynchronous participation in the LINCS DEI course, one unit per week (approximately 6 hours total)
  • Week of May 8: Unit 1: Course Introduction and Understanding and Defining DEI
  • Week of May 15: Unit 2: Awareness Building: Understanding Adult Learners
  • Week of May 22: Unit 3: Awareness Building: Cultural Competence and Inclusion
  • Week of May 29: Unit 4: Awareness Building: The Many Forms of Bias
  • Week of June 5: Unit 5: Taking Action: Equity Audit
  • Week of June 12: Course Conclusion
• Cohort Wrap-up Webinar: June 15, 2:30-4:00 pm CDT

Those who attend the webinars and complete the course will receive 8 CEUs and a $150 stipend.
