TechChat: Using Wakelet in the Virtual Classroom
June 24, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:15 pm CDT FreeRegistration Deadline: THU. 6/24/21
Wakelet is a free web-based platform where students and teachers can save, organize and share visually-engaging collections. Wakelet integrates with a growing number of platforms such as: Flipgrid, Google Drive, YouTube, OneDrive and Twitter. Class wakelets are a simple way to share class materials, recordings and links with lower-level learners. A built-in immersive reader with language translation adds additional support. Intermediate and advanced learners can co-create collections for projects and access other collections for research.
Please join ABE teacher Amy Van Steenwyk to see how she has used Wakelet with high beginning ELLs during distance learning. In addition, you will learn how to create collections on Wakelet that can be shared with students as well as how to invite students to contribute to a collection for a class or group project.
