APPLY – Content Standards Integration (CSI) Cohort FY27
Deadline: Submit this application by 5:00 PM on Friday, September 4, 2026.
Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by end of day on Friday, September 11.
Description
The Content Standards Integration (CSI) Cohort invites Minnesota adult educators to explore how CCRS, TIF, and Northstar can work together within meaningful, contextualized instruction.
Instead of asking teachers to specialize in a single set of standards, this cohort focuses on strengthening the instruction educators already do by integrating CCRS with transitions skills and digital literacy skills in ways that reflect how adults actually learn and live.
Participants will build a shared foundation in CCRS while developing the ability to intentionally incorporate TIF and Northstar into their instruction based on learner needs and instructional goals. Working in collaborative teams (created by CSI leaders) and supported by skilled facilitators, participants will design their own learning pathway by selecting from a menu of options and developing SMART goals grounded in their teaching context and learners’ needs.
This cohort is being offered as a pilot initiative, and participants will provide feedback throughout the experience to help shape future professional development.
Who is this for?
- Adult educators who:
- are currently teaching and have some prior experience with the CCRS, such as CCRS Foundations, other ABE PD (e.g., at your local program) related to the CCRS, or several years of standards-based ELA or math instruction in K-12,
- are open to new perspectives and willing to reflect on practice, and
- are willing to provide input on this experience for future cohorts.
- Those teaching in Minnesota Adult Education programs only.
CSI Cohort Schedule
Participants are expected to attend all cohort meetings and engage in reflection and instructional experimentation between sessions.
*Participants will spend time between sessions reflecting on instruction, trying ideas in their classrooms, and sharing insights with colleagues via Canvas or live, as each team arranges. The online learning platform Canvas will be used for online discussions, file management, and other collaboration.
