ACES Webinar – Navigating Systems
April 27, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm CDT FreeRegistration Deadline: MON. 4/27/20
In this webinar, we will explore how students can practice Navigating Systems by learning how to access vital information, such as how to apply for a Real ID, what the “public charge” rule means, and how to keep up-to-date with COVID-19. By creating simple contextualized activities, teachers can help their students gain confidence in accessing and unpacking information that they find online and receive in electronic communications.
We will share some examples of activities that will be available for webinar participants to download and use, and talk about where to look to find material to create activities of your own.
Finally, we will discuss how these lessons support the development of TIF skills, and help you as a teacher to create lessons that are standards-aligned.
Hosted by Stephanie Sommers, ACES Coordinator for ATLAS / instructor with Minneapolis Adult Education
