Eva Zewdie

Grant & Budget Coordinator

Eva Kovacs Zewdie holds a BA in International Management and German from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) and an MBA in International Management and French from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University. She began her career in adult education as a volunteer ESL instructor and later served as Program Administrator at the English Learning Center in Minneapolis. Eva has taught adult English language learners in Minneapolis, Hungary, and Albania, and remains deeply engaged in cross-cultural work and refugee support.

Her professional background spans international development, healthcare, philanthropy, and nonprofit operations. Most recently, she served as Donor Services and Data Manager at Alight (formerly the American Refugee Committee). As part of a personal initiative through the Welcome Corps, Eva helped 22 refugee newcomers reach safety and navigate their first 90 days in the U.S., coordinating and guiding 35 volunteers across four neighborhood teams.

At ATLAS, Eva brings her passion for adult learning and systems thinking to support grant, budget, and data management across the team’s work.

Topics you can always talk to Eva about: cart-in camping at Split Rock Lighthouse, cross-cultural experiences, travel and adventure memoirs, parenting, and the Peace Corps.
