Accessible Distance Learning for Beginning English Learners

Presenters: Elizabeth Bennett (Literacy Minnesota) & Rebecca Jarvis (Metro South ABE) 

In a perfect world, all learners would easily be able to access high-quality, relevant distance learning content. In the real world, we know that technology and language barriers often get in the way. In this session, we’ll provide an overview of lower-tech and paper-based distance learning options that can extend access to meaningful learning beyond your classroom. We’ll also showcase a FREE collection of paper-based lessons that were intentionally developed to support pre-lit and beginning English learners. These lessons were created in alignment with Minnesota’s Teacher Verification Model to offer proxy hours per lesson. More information about TVM here.
