Minnesota Alliance for Geographic Education
According to their website, the Minnesota Alliance for Geographic Education (MAGE) is “a group of educators who advocate for geographical literacy.” MAGE’s website hosts a repository of lessons that have been developed through MAGE-sponsored institutes and workshops and are indexed by standards, key words, and benchmarks. The free downloadable lessons are leveled from elementary to secondary and topics range from map analysis to migration patterns.
Website users can also access a large number of geography-related podcasts. Many of them can be used for student lessons while some offer strategies to educators about teaching geography.
In addition to the more formal lessons, MAGE provides links to map and data resources for both the U.S. and Minnesota.
