Google My Maps: Make Educational Maps with AI
Learn how to make educational maps with AI using a free tool called Google My Maps, which allows users to create custom maps on any topic. There is a short video tutorial and detailed instructions to help with the map making process. Many potential map topics are suggested, and the site clearly outlines and provides examples on how to use AI to generate the map data file, import it into Google My Maps, and, ultimately, how to create, edit, and share the map.
PBS Learning Media for Social Studies
PBS Learning Media includes an extensive collection of free, leveled teacher resources for all subject areas. The lessons represent diverse perspectives, are aligned to national and state standards, and are designed to supplement classroom instruction by incorporating video segments and interactive resources. Users can filter by grade level and/or by the many resource types such as lesson plans, interactive lessons, or just video. In addition, many lessons highlight current events and can be shared to Google Classroom or directly shared with students.
Statista
Statista is the perfect site if you are looking for a chart/graph that relates to a particular lesson/classroom topic or if students are in need of more chart and graph practice in preparation for the GED social studies test. After creating an account, Statista's free plan allows access to an extensive collection of statistics ranging from the economy to the environment, and even stats related to celebrities, personality, and behavior.

This free site offers a video library consisting of hundreds of civics, economic, and geographical related videos that can be streamed or downloaded, and browsed by category, subject, and theme. Many of the videos are paired with a comprehensive teacher’s guide that includes vocabulary, learning objectives, preview activities, viewing guide, discussion questions, post-viewing activities, worksheets, graphic organizers, quizzes, and more. In addition, the "Both Sides of the Issue" video series encourages critical thinking and open discussion among students.
