English Learner Digital Essential Skills (ELDES)
Developed by the Lyndale Neighborhood Association (LDA) with support from the Hennepin County’s Office of Broadband and Digital Inclusion, the English Learner Digital Essential Skills (ELDES) Curriculum is designed to support intermediate-level adult English learners who are building their vocabulary, language skills and conceptual understanding of foundational digital literacy topics.
ELDES includes a curriculum document (with activities and instructional scripts) and slide decks for seven units:
- Introduction to Your Computer
- The Desktop
- The Computer Mouse
- The Keyboard
- Computer Interfacing
- Web Browsers
- Internet Navigation and Safety
The full curriculum is available in both English and Spanish, and a Somali-language video version is also available on LDA’s YouTube channel. While ELDES is free to download and use, it is copyrighted by LDA and may not be distributed or modified without written permission.
