SERP Social Studies Generation

SERP’s Social Studies Generation is comprised of three units, including a civics-related unit called “Complex Questions Related to American Democracy.” Written for the middle school level, the lessons provide opportunities for students to read, write, discuss, and build arguments. All instructional activities relate to a central question or topic of the week and allow students to encounter academic vocabulary in multiple contexts and integrate and debate information from multiple texts. Brief activities for ELA, math and science are also included in each unit, and registration is required for free access to all materials. It would be most appropriate for Advanced ESL, Pre-GED, GED, and Adult Diploma.
