What Does It Mean to Be a Refugee?
This video describes the prevalence of global conflict that results in the internal displacement of millions of people due to war, violence and persecution as well as the difference between an Internally Displaced Person (IDP) and refugee. This resource is a visually engaging resource to inform ABE practitioners more about refugee populations.
Additionally, there are lesson materials on the tabs found on the right of the TED Ed video titled “Watch”, “Think”, “Dig Deeper” and “Discuss.” The “Think” tab asks comprehension questions based on the video in a multiple choice and open answer format. The “Dig Deeper” tab does just that, providing resources for individuals to expand their knowledge even more about refugees and asylum seekers. The “Discuss” tab provides individuals an outlet to discuss questions related to refugees and asylum seekers.
