C3 Teachers: College Career & Civic Life – Economics
The C3 Teachers curriculum is based on the Inquiry Design Model that emphasizes student inquiry in social studies instruction – including economics. These free lessons, or “inquiries,” are K-12 leveled and cover all other sub-disciplines of social studies as well (Ancient/European/World/U.S. history, Civics/U.S. government, geography). There are also lessons focused on state history, local history, and human rights. Each instructional inquiry is framed around a compelling question, and all related formative/summative performance tasks, subject matter-specific texts, and suggestions for extending the inquiry are included.
While the inquiries are based on social studies standards from various states, the materials can be adapted to any classroom in any locale. In addition to the ready-made inquiries, the site provides resources and support for teachers to develop their own inquiries that can be used with students either online or through printed materials.
