Climate Generation
Climate Generation offers a collection of Grades 3-12 curriculum resources in the form of curriculum guides, as well as online modules that can be downloaded for free. All of these resources are standards-based and interdisciplinary.
Minnesota’s Changing Climate Curriculum for Grades 3-12 connects the big issues of climate change with our place in Minnesota. These lessons could be used with ESL and GED/HiSET students.
Next Generation Climate for Grades 6-8 has 6 lessons with activities and graphics for understanding the evidence, factors and repercussions of the rise in global temperatures, allowing students to dive deep into graphs and data and practice the skills of argumentation and engineering design. There are also lessons focusing on energy use as well as using polar expedition journals documenting climate change in the arctic. This curriculum uses the Next Generation Science Standards as a framework and is also aligned to Climate and Energy Literacy standards. These lessons can be used with GED/HiSET students.
