Underrepresentation Curriculum Project (URC)
The URC lessons are created to address underrepresentation of BIPOC folks in science classrooms. The lessons are designed to break down a daunting topic into less daunting instructional steps that other instructors have found to be successful. There are three units:
- The first has students exploring the nature of science, and who has historically done science.
- The second focuses on topics of underrepresentation.
- The third has a project-based learning component for students to put what they have learned into action.
Each unit comes with detailed lesson plans that teachers can customize to fit the needs of their students.
