2026 Language & Literacy Institute: Registration Now Open!
Kristine Kelly, Language & Literacy CoordinatorJoin us for the 2026 Language & Literacy (virtual) Institute on January 29-30, 2026! This is ATLAS’s largest event each year, a two-day conference of language and literacy-related workshops that you will NOT want to miss. If you teach any aspect of language and literacy—at any level—this event is for you!
Registration is now OPEN. Note: You must register for each day you plan to attend.
On the registration pages, you will also find the daily schedule. The complete flyer with descriptions of the sessions will be available very soon, so please check back to the ATLAS Events Calendar.
As this conference is being offered virtually, there is NO FEE to attend, but you do need to register to receive the Zoom links for the sessions. This will be a great opportunity to meet many relicensure requirements!
Sessions and topics
In addition to two days of interactive, dynamic online workshops, this year’s institute will feature special speakers on Thursday. Jayme Adelson-Goldsten will present “Designing for Difference: Scaffolds that Support Adult Learners’ Voice and Choice,” and Betsy Parrish will present “The Power of Talk: Building Literacy and Career Readiness Through Oral Language.” Both are 2-part workshops. The general session on Friday–“From Academic Language to the Language of Access: History, Harm, and New Possibilities in Adult Education”–will be presented by Michelle Benegas, Hamline University. Each day will also include 45-minute “Conversations by the Copier” sessions for participants to connect about adult education hot topics.
