Best Practices in Digital Learning Cohort: Application Now Open!

Best Practices in Digital Learning Cohort: Application Now Open!

Applications are now being accepted for the Best Practices in Digital Learning Cohort!

Formerly known as Distance Learning 101/102, this professional development (PD) cohort opportunity will support ABE teachers, staff, and administrators in setting learners up for success in asynchronous distance learning and synchronous online class formats (fully online, blended, HyFlex, etc.). We’ll focus on discussion of new readings and resources as well as best practices in digital education, digital equity, learner orientation, ongoing digital navigation/tech support, and instruction and assessment.

The purpose of this PD initiative is to build the capacity of MN Adult Ed staff, programs, and consortia to offer quality digital education programming and distance learning opportunities for their learners based on established best practices. Participants who are accepted, fully participate, and complete the course requirements will receive a stipend of $250 from Literacy Minnesota  and approximately 20 CEUs.

The online kickoff will be held Friday, October 31, 2025, 9:00-11:30am, and the cohort experience will conclude in early March 2026. Participants will work together in a supportive cohort of peers from around the state to address critical issues in digital education and improve their programmatic and/or instructional practices. Join this cohort to build up your knowledge or stay up to date on all things related to digital learning.

This cohort will be facilitated by Adam Kieffer (St. Paul ABE/Hubbs Center) and Elizabeth Bennett (Literacy Minnesota). This PD initiative is supported by the Digital Learning Team Supplemental Services grant through Literacy Minnesota.
