Build capacity. Invest in new leadership. Host a Literacy Leader!

Build capacity. Invest in new leadership. Host a Literacy Leader!

Do you have a dream project on the “back burner,” and you just need someone with the time to dedicate to getting it off the ground?

The Literacy Leadership Program works with AmeriCorps to place energetic individuals with organizations, schools, districts and consortia looking to launch or expand literacy programming, such as navigation, distance learning, digital literacy, workforce readiness, student outreach and retention, family literacy and more.

Is the Literacy Leadership Program right for my organization?

Literacy Leaders build infrastructure for programs that help low-income preschool children, adults or young adults not currently served by the K-12 school system and families with reading, writing, oral language and digital communication skills. Literacy Leaders serve full-time for one full year, while projects may last up to 3-5 years.

With the Literacy Leadership Program, you can increase organizational capacity at minimal cost and increase your impact, all while investing in the next generation of nonprofit leaders.
