COMING SOON! Dev Ed/ABE Virtual Symposium on February 16

Please join us for the first-ever FREE, virtual Dev Ed/ABE Symposium on February 16 from 8:450am-12:30pm! Improving Student Dev Ed Outcomes Through Highly Effective Partnerships with Adult Basic Education will provide an opportunity for Minnesota Dev Ed and Adult Education practitioners statewide to congregate for the exchange of ideas among those deeply invested in, or newly inquiring about, Dev Ed and ABE partnerships. Even as the future direction of Dev Ed is under Minnesota State discussion, it is more important than ever to learn how these partnerships can profoundly positively impact at-risk students.

What will be covered at the Symposium?

With more than 25 partnerships between ABE and Minnesota State colleges presently in existence, you will hear from several partners about their evidence-based practices which have led to improved course pass rates, increased student confidence and persistence, and decreased time to credit-bearing courses. Other topics available will include how partnerships are formed, sustained, and in some cases scaled, which courses lend themselves best to partnering, and how co-instruction works most successfully. Lastly, participants will learn how to find valuable self-help resources, should they wish to start a partnership in their region or locale.

For additional information see this Promotional Flyer, and please share it with colleagues who may be interested!

Who is the Symposium for?

The Symposium is well suited for ABE instructors, college faculty, counselors, navigators, deans and college administrators, ABE program managers and regional directors, and anyone charged with measuring Dev Ed student outcomes or responsible for managing Dev Ed programs. There is no cost to attend, so be sure to get registered on the event page when registration opens on January 23!
