Charting a New Path!

Changes are a-comin’ to PANDA! Wendy and Moira are charting a new path towards retirement. Friday, December 20 will be our last day.  So…

PLEASE WELCOME TO PANDA!

Erin Parker:

Erin (pictured on the left) will be the new PANDA Manager, responsible for developing and delivering disability professional development and consulting services to Adult Education providers throughout Minnesota, as well as managing the PANDA grant and budget.

Erin Parker has taught Academic Skills in the Adult Academic Program for 20 years. She has also been a PANDA consultant for 3 years. She has experience applying the concepts of Universal Design in her Academic Skills class. Erin holds a BS in Psychology and a MN Teaching License in Special Education and Learning Disabilities. Erin is looking forward to helping teachers meet the needs of their students with disabilities.

Sheila Brandes:

Shelia (pictured on the right) will be the new PANDA Disability Specialist, partnering with Erin and contributing her brain injury, stroke and aphasia expertise to PANDA’s professional development and consulting services.

Sheila Brandes teaches the Classes for Stroke and Brain Injury Survivors for the Robbinsdale Adult Academic Program. She is a licensed teacher and has a master’s degree in library and information science. She has worked as a school library media specialist and has taught adult English Language Learners. She is also a Certified Brain Injury Specialist and is looking forward to assisting adults with stroke or brain injury meet their educational goals.

Wendy Sweeney:

(pictured on the left) It has been a pleasure working with many of you over the years. I will miss seeing your smiling faces and helping you with your students who have disabilities, mental health, and learning challenges. After working for ABE for the past 17 years, it is time to start the next chapter in my life. I will miss you all but would love to stay in touch.

Moira Knutson:

(pictured on the right) I’ve only been with PANDA for a little over 2 years, but it has been a wonderful experience. It’s been fun working with and meeting so many people at the state level involved in ABE. You all do such great work! It has been a pleasure to help you serve your students. I’m looking forward to the new year, traveling and spending time with our grandkids!
