MobyMax and Ellii Changes Coming in July

MobyMax and Ellii Changes Coming in July

As mentioned in previous newsletters, important changes for MobyMax and Ellii are quickly approaching! To recap:

  • MobyMax will remain a state-supported platform, but is moving to a seat-based license structure on July 8, 2025. MobyMax site administrators should have already received information regarding seat allocations.
  • Beginning August 1, Ellii will become a state-supported platform, available to all Minnesota adult education staff and learners at no additional cost. If you already pay for a teacher or organizational license, please let us know.

How do I go about assigning MobyMax seats?

MobyMax seat (also known as student license) allocations have already been sent out to site administrators. Learners will not be able to access MobyMax after July 7 unless a seat has been assigned to them. The DL team strongly recommends deciding which learners will receive licenses prior to this date so seats can be assigned as soon as possible on July 8.

Seats are only able to be assigned by a site administrator who will have to view the required MobyMax training (see below for more information).

If you are having difficulty deciding how to assign seats, check out our Guide to Assigning MobyMax Licenses! You’ll find important information about upcoming changes as well as guiding questions you can use to determine how to go about seat assignments.

Upcoming (Required) Training for MobyMax Site Admins

MobyMax site administrators will be required to complete a training on the new changes to the platform. This training will be taking place TOMORROW, June 18 at 2 PM.

Not able to attend the training tomorrow? It will be recorded! You’ll be able to gain site admin certification by completing the recording and a short quiz at a later date.
