Specific Learning Disorders: The Symptoms, the Myths, the Facts
Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs), often called learning disabilities, are frequently misunderstood. Too often, people suffering from SLDs are wrongly believed to lack motivation or be lazy. Some common symptoms of SLDs include: short attention span; poor memory; difficulty following directions; inability to discriminate between/among letters, numerals, or sounds; poor reading, comprehension and slowed fluency; poor spelling and grammar.
