This CAELA (Center for Adult English Language Acquisition) network brief provides evidence-based recommendations for student-centered language instruction in the adult ESL classroom. The authors offer four research-backed recommendations that teachers can implement in their classes, as well as concrete activities and practices to support each recommendation.
