Target Student Population: CASAS 221+, prerequisites include passing Northstar Module 1: Basic Computer Skills or demonstrating basic digital literacy skills such as using a mouse, turning a computer on and off, how to log in, etc.
Access Curriculum:
Course Description: This course is intended for students who have minimum computer skills and experience. Students will learn the features of Google Workspace including basic computer terminology, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Slides and Google Docs. Students will also learn about the Windows 10 operating system.
Duration: 20 class sessions, 1.5 hours each for a total of 30 hours
Curriculum Materials: Includes course objectives and student syllabus. Instructional content and objectives are organized on a Google Site.
Curriculum Pluses: The course has a general structure and set objectives, but is customizable based on student knowledge and ability levels. This allows for customization and flexibility.
Curriculum Drawbacks: Since the course is task-based and students are learning as they do, there isn’t much in the way of developed materials. Could include some basic “How to” guides that teachers could refer to during instruction and that students could access after the ends.
