Course Description: This course introduces students to career and college exploration. It integrates instruction of soft skills needed for successful entry into career and/or college. It also integrates digital literacy and introduces students to Northstar Digital Website. Students work toward a goal of completion of Northstar Digital Certification.
Duration: 3 weeks, 3 days a week, 1.5 hours a day = 13.5 hours total instruction
Curriculum Materials: This course includes everything needed to complete it. Any instructor can use the information as is or adapt the activities based on the student population. Materials include slides, videos, worksheets, group and pair activities, and extension activities for more practice.
Curriculum Pluses: Easy to use and adaptable if needed. No textbook required; all materials are provided. Activities include group discussions, small group and/or pair discussions. Has been used during COVID-19 with synchronous online classes.
Curriculum Drawbacks: This is a short course that does not lead to certification.
