Target Student Population: 21+ years old, valid driver’s license, no DWI, no speeding tickets or accidents in last 5 years, TABE “M” Reading test (442+)

Course Description: Students identify entry-level CDL employment options. Basic CDL concepts and terminology are covered as students develop their academic and study skills. Students will become familiar with truck driving culture and norms.

Duration: 12 wks, 2 hrs/night 2x/wk = 48 hours

Curriculum Materials/Description: Curriculum materials in the shared link include SSLOs, Standards Alignment, Formal (Google forms quizzes) and Informal (Desmos lesson activities) assessments, Scope and Sequence, Lesson Materials and the course Syllabus.

Curriculum Drawbacks: Curriculum may not have as much practice with test-taking strategies as students need. This is in development by the instructor for future iterations.

Additional Curriculum Notes: This is an adaptation of George Schooley’s curriculum for in-person CDL instruction.

Instructors do need to be familiar with Desmos, but once they are a lesson plan template that they can edit/modify is included.
