Course Description: This class will focus on Technical Support Fundamentals, an online course in Coursera where students gain skills and knowledge of computer history, hardware and software, and understand basic IT career pathways. This class is for ELL level C1+ or any L1 learner. Students will be able to:
- Name hardware, software, and platform components.
- Understand different operating systems and how they interact.
- Understand concepts around digital citizenship and online privacy and security.
- Learn how to perform basic computer (hardware and software) troubleshooting with users.
- Learn about the IT field & help desk or support technicians jobs, as well as requirements to enter the IT career field.
Duration: 12 wks, 4 days/wk, 2 hrs/session = 96 instructional hours
