Course Description: The course focuses on the knowledge and requirements needed to pass the MN driver’s license written exam, based on the MN Driver’s Manual. Focuses on road knowledge, traffic laws, vehicle operation and signage.
Duration: 7 weeks, 1 session per week, 90 minutes per session, total of 10.5 hours of instruction
Curriculum materials: Includes clearly defined course objectives, aligned with CCRS, ACES-TIF and Northstar digital literacy standards. Student syllabus also provided. (Instructional materials for each unit, PowerPoint presentation and additional source materials are pending). The MN Driver’s Manual is the primary “text.”
Curriculum pluses: Objectives include literacy, transitions and digital skill development in addition to the knowledge necessary to pass the driving written exam.
Curriculum drawbacks: Scope and sequence is incomplete. Instructional materials are not provided.
