Course Description: Pathway to Statistics is a co-requisite support for students in a Statistics course at Central Lakes College. Topics discussed include displaying and describing data, the normal curve, regression, probability, statistical inference, confidence intervals, and hypothesis tests with applications in the real world. Students also have the opportunity to analyze data sets using technology.
Duration: 1.5-hour class meets 2 days per week for 14 weeks = 42 hours
Additional ABE open lab support hours were also available to all students.
Curriculum Materials: Curriculum link gives access to weekly study guides, supplemental digital support materials, and unit lesson plans.
Curriculum Pluses: The curriculum is broken into 14 weeks, and most weeks include a teacher copy and student copy of materials. The curriculum uses an open-source online textbook.
Curriculum Drawbacks: Currently, there is not a scope and sequence for this course to determine what is the focus for each week.
