Target Student Population: CASAS GOALS minimum score of 210, must have valid MN driver’s license for 1 year before taking permit test.

Course Description: This course will prepare learners to take the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class B) General, Passenger, and School Bus knowledge tests in Minnesota. Students will become familiar with the types of jobs available with a CDL and their requirements , and typical job duties. Particular attention will be paid to safe driving. Students will participate in discussions, complete quizzes, watch videos and read the manual. Students are expected to complete one hour of studying per week outside of class.

Duration: 11 classes, 2 hours each = 22 hours

Curriculum Materials/Description: MN CDL Manual is needed, either printed or online, but printed is preferred (available free online.) Access to Canvas is needed. Assignments, quizzes, discussions, video links are all provided.
