- Entering a post-secondary diploma program for administrative assistant / office support
Target Student Population:
- TABE Math & Reading 6.0 and above
- Completed or be working on a high school diploma or equivalent
- Strong technology skills and typing speed of 40 wpm

Course Description: In this hybrid course (classroom + independent online study), students develop professional communication skills, strengthen academic reading/writing using technology, improve technology skills, learn basic office management methods and prepare for the transition to college and work.
Duration: Self-paced, must complete within one year
Curriculum Materials: Google Drive folders organized by topics. Includes student syllabus, a variety of online assessments and resource folders. Utilizes Learn English Today – free online resources for learners of English.
Curriculum Pluses: Complete set of course overview documents, instructional materials and assessments. Well organized in Google Drive. Intended to be run as a hybrid class. In-class time can be with a group of students or with individual students in a lab setting. On-line time can be done independently by the student anywhere and anytime.
Curriculum Drawbacks: Most quizzes and other assessments are created in Google Forms. These forms and the links to them will need to be revised by a new instructor so that responses come to the new instructor.
