Single Set of Learning Objectives (SSLO)

An integrated education and training program (IET) has a single set of learning objectives (SSLO) that facilitates the contextualization of basic skills and workforce preparation into training skills.

SSLOs identify:

  1. specific adult education content;
  2. workforce preparation activities; and
  3. workforce training competencies,

and the program activities are organized to function cooperatively.

However, developing these objectives is not easy! Use this template as a resource to create your own SSLOs:

Single Set of Learning Objectives (SSLO) Rubric Used for IET Application Process

When submitting an IET Application, ABE programs complete a grid with four to six Single Set of Learning Objectives (SSLOs) that integrate the three required components of IET; 1) adult basic literacy, 2) workforce preparation, and 3) occupational skills and knowledge. SSLOs will be evaluated by ATLAS staff based on evidence of the required components, clarity and measurable outcomes. View the full rubric to learn more about SSLO criteria.
