Contextualized Food Manager Certificate Unit

This contextualized curriculum is designed for students to learn content to obtain the state-issued food safety manager certificate. The course focuses on the areas of basic food safety, personal hygiene, cross-contamination & allergens, time and temperature, and cleaning and sanitation.

Morpheme Matrices Crosswords

These crossword puzzles and answer keys accompany Morpheme Matrices, an ATLAS resource focusing on morphological awareness. Six of puzzles target Latin morphemes (prefixes, roots, suffixes) and two target Greek forms and related suffixes.

Introduction to Child Development

Introduces students to the field of early childhood education and childcare. Students learn about different early childhood settings: centers, schools and family. They learn how to interact with children 0-5 years old and their parents. Major topics include developmental milestones, discipline, nutrition, safety and literacy. Introduces vocabulary, concepts and skills used in early childhood education. Class activities include creating and implementing hands-on activities. Also builds students’ reading, writing, math, and computer skills.

2020 Census Resources – NCL

In the spring of 2020, households across the United States will be asked to participate in the census. The National Coalition for Literacy (NCL) put together this collection of resources to help Adult Education professionals talk about the census and help learners understand why their participation is vitally important.
